Scientometrics: Untangling the topics
Measuring science is based on comparing articles to similar others. However,
keyword-based groups of thematically similar articles are dominantly small.
These small sizes keep the statistical errors of comparisons high. With the
growing availability of bibliographic data such statistical errors can be
reduced by merging methods of thematic grouping, citation networks and keyword

What is absent in much of the literature on executive compensation reform is a deeper appreciation of the shift that has occurred since the latest financial crisis away from performance-based corporate governance arrangements to an approach that seeks to put the brakes on a runaway train, the shareholder value model and its relentless pursuit of shareholder wealth at all costs. By situating this debate into a broader discussion of corporate purpose, corporate governance and the lawâs role in how business corporations are run in their social, economic and political environment this project seeks to shed some light onto what really is at stake in this debate, whether the existing shareholder primacy paradigm for conceptualizing and fashioning a solution for constraining managerial power in the firm is a viable solution moving forward from the crisis

Image quality of supine chest radiographs: intra-individual comparison of computed radiography and low-dose linear-slit digital radiography
The purpose of this retrospective study was to intra-individually compare the image quality of computed radiography (CR) and low-dose linear-slit digital radiography (LSDR) for supine chest radiographs. A total of 90 patients (28 female, 62 male; mean age, 55.1years) imaged with CR and LSDR within a mean time interval of 2.8daysâ±â3.0 were included in this study. Two independent readers evaluated the image quality of CR and LSDR based on modified European Guidelines for Quality Criteria for chest X-ray. The Wilcoxon test was used to analyse differences between the techniques. The overall image quality of LSDR was significantly better than the quality of CR (9.75 vs 8.16 of a maximum score of 10; pâ<â0.001). LSDR performed significantly better than CR for delineation of anatomical structures in the mediastinum and the retrocardiac lung (pâ<â0.001). CR was superior to LSDR for visually sharp delineation of the lung vessels and the thin linear structures in the lungs. Other Computational Technique for Estimation of Lower Bound on Capacity of Two-Dimensional Diamond-1 Constrained Channel
Computational technique for lower bound on Two-dimensional Diamond-1 constrained channel capacity is presented in this paper. It is basically an amalgamation of Matrix Fractal Grow Method (MFGM) and a new Matrix Fractal Reduction Method both applicable to state transition matrices of the corresponding constrained channels and Rayleigh Quotient Iteration method. Also other programming tricks are presented which improve its implementation. Estimation of lower bound values on the mentioned capacity is made using it. The results are in good alignment with known exact results, which is a verification of the new method. The method could be generalized for other constraints which are restricted only on one neighbor symbol in 2D constrained channel such as for example Square-1 and Hexagonal-1
Unanticipated differences between α- and γ-diaminobutyric acid-linked hairpin polyamide-alkylator conjugates
Hairpin polyamideâchlorambucil conjugates containing an {alpha}-diaminobutyric acid ({alpha}-DABA) turn moiety are compared to their constitutional isomers containing the well-characterized {gamma}-DABA turn. Although the DNA-binding properties of unconjugated polyamides are similar, the {alpha}-DABA conjugates display increased alkylation specificity and decreased rate of reaction. Treatment of a human colon carcinoma cell line with {alpha}-DABA versus {gamma}-DABA hairpin conjugates shows only slight differences in toxicities while producing similar effects on cell morphology and G2/M stage cell cycle arrest. However, striking differences in animal toxicity between the two classes are observed. Although mice treated with an {alpha}-DABA hairpin polyamide do not differ significantly from control mice, the analogous {gamma}-DABA hairpin is lethal. This dramatic difference from a subtle structural change would not have been predicted
